George W. Bush: Bible "Probably Not" Literally True

From the "you gotta be kidding" files comes an interview by ABC's Nightline with President Bush, including the requisite interrogation of his religious beliefs. During the religious inquisition phase, Mr. Bush was asked if the Bible was 'literally true'. His answer: 'probably not'. Although he believes in the part in the New Testament about that God-sent-his-Son thing. Yeah, that's pretty cool, who wouldn't want to believe that?

He also echoed the commonly-held and completely illogical position that creation (a six 24-hour day series of unrepeatable supernatural events occurring about 6,000 years ago) and evolution (1 million, no, 1 billion, no wait, 4 billion, um, 10 billion, uh, 14 billion years of molecules-to-man, goo-to-zoo-to-you) are not incompatible. On the other hand, if the Bible isn't literally true, then there really isn't a six-day creation event to bother reconciling with the meandering belief system that is onomatopoetically called evolution.

But if Mr. Bush doesn't think the Bible is literally true, how can he think Jesus is literally true? How is it that the supernatural virgin birth event is literally true, but the supernatural creation event is not? If it's not true that it only took six days to create the universe as the Bible says, then how can the whole forgiveness-of-sins part be true as the Bible says?

What's really scary is that Mr. Obama probably believes the same thing. Evolution help us all.

Wednesday is "Call in Gay" Day

The members of the Sphincter Lobby are calling on their "troops" to show those of us who don't partake in male-on-male anal sex what it will be like to have no Hollywood movies or sitcoms filmed, no Jesus-in-urine "artwork" ass-embled, and fewer people getting their hair styled on Wednesday. That's right ladies and gentlemen, tomorrow is "Call in Gay" Day, a sort of Million Man Munch, when all of the San Francisco bath houses will be full (and not just during lunchtime) to demonstrate just how much a functioning American society needs the anti-social behavior of the homosexual in order to survive.

Hmm, last time I checked, it was the other way around.

Top 5 Business Changes Detroit Will Make

So the Big 3 auto companies showed up in the nation's capitol with their "Will Grovel For Bailout Money" signs, their hats in their hands, and flashing their validated parking stubs. They presented their shiny new business plans to Congress - no slouches themselves when it comes to skillfully wasting grotesque sums of money. Right Wing Ramblings got an early draft copy of the companies' proposal of what they would do with the bailout money, and have presented it in Top 5 format:

5) Restructure UAW contracts so that union employees' salaries are only twice as much as the amount of revenue they produce.

4) Hire President-elect Obama to hypnotize his minions into purchasing Escalades and Expeditions instead of Camrys and Priuses.

3) Eliminate our dependency on foreign oil by designing cars that run directly on taxpayer dollars.

2) Finally drag out that 80mpg carburetor they've been hiding for 40 years.

1) Purchase a regional Federal Reserve Bank, then print more money.

Top 7 Reasons the Big 3 Flew Private Jets

With all of the media and politicians' focus on the carnival atmosphere that was the Big 3 CEOs' travel arrangements to Washington, rather than the core of their problems (economically unfeasible union contracts), I thought it might be fun to list the Top 7 reasons the Big 3 CEOs listed as to why they had to fly private corporate jets.

7) They would've had to drive themselves all the way to the airport.

6) The stewardesses looked like Barney Frank. Some of them talked like him.

5) They each saved their company $2.63 Billion by not having to wait in the security checkpoint lines.

4) Community Organizer Jimmy Hoffa took a commercial flight once, and look what happened to him.

3) Commercial flights do not allow you to roll and smoke $100 bills, not even in First Class.

2) Commercial flights do not come with free health care.

1) Even Southwest demanded they pay extra for their mistresses' luggage.

Obama, President of the Stupid

Zogby polled around 500 Obama voters (the ones that were home watching Dr. Phil during the daytime) to learn what they understood about the election and its candidates. Let's summarize what an overwhelming majority of these Obama voters think:

1) Saturday Night Live is a weekly news program.
2) Republicans are in control of Congress.
3) Sarah Palin is the Vice President-elect.

Okay, I fabricated that third point - Zogby didn't say that. Howard Stern did.

Paul Volcker, Obama's Economic Savior

This just in: President-elect OBambi has decided to drudge up the genius who gave us Jimmy Carter's Malaise to head up his Economic Implosion Advisory Board. For those of you who are under 40 or went to the public schools, we're talking about the man who oversaw the second-worst economy of the last 100 years (the Great Depression being the worst of course). Yes, Mr. Stagflation is now part of the Hope and Change Express, along with numerous former Clinton officials.

You think times are tough now? According to The Omniscient One, we're currently in the worst economy since the Great Depression. Right now we're saddled with 6% unemployment, 2-3% inflation, and 5% interest rates. The Carter Administration, thanks to the money policy of Paul Volcker, gave us 10% unemployment (um, that's 67% more unemployed people than right now), 13% inflation, and 11% interest rates. Try buying a car or flat-screeen TV with those stats. Between the 20th and 21st Centuries, only the Great Depression was worse.

The media likes to credit Mr. Volcker for being the man who helped end the Carter economic disaster. Um, that guy's name is Ronald Reagan. Paul Volcker created the disaster by changing the fed's money policy. Ronald Reagan ended it by reversing Mr. Volcker's idiocy. Mr. Volcker was allowed to stay on during the Reagan Administration to implement what was originally mockingly dubbed Reaganomics. Note that it's not called Volckernomics. Volckernomics would be double-digit unemployment, inflation, and interest rates.

So I'm confused: is this Carter's second term, or Clinton's third?

Bailout: The Question No One Wants to Ask

Too Big to Fail: that's the mantra of our socialist government these days. Of course, Lehman was not too big to fail, but AiG and Citigroup are, and so are GM, Ford and Chrysler, but only if they take the Lee Iacocca salary and fly commercial (requirements not asked of those financial institutions who are partying on our money. But I digress.).

So what is the question no one wants to ask? It's this: what if they fail anyway? What if the government ends up having wasted one to seven trillion dollars of our money, only to see these financial institutions fail anyway?

If we just have to spend the money to save the economy, wouldn't the money be better spent rebuilding the ash heap after it's collapsed, rather than gamble trillions of dollars on the hope that it doesn't turn out to be a black hole?

If I were CEO of General Motors

Let's play pretend, shall we? Let's pretend that someone who actually understands economics is running General Motors. I choose me. So how would I fix GM?

1) Shrink. GM has too many employees and too many car models for its actual size in terms of revenue. GM has the following car lines in its portfolio:

Chevrolet
Buick
GMC
Pontiac
Saab
Hummer
Saturn
Cadillac

That's too many. I'd sell off Hummer and Saab, even if it's a fire sale, to generate revenue and eliminate all those employees retiree benefits from my future financial obligations. I'd eliminate GMC and Buick, and close the factories that make them. GM would be left with Chevy, Pontiac, Cadillac, and Saturn. All in all, I'd get GM down from 300,000 or so employees to 200,000 or so.

2) Fire the UAW. Sorry, no re-negotiations. I won't negotiate with the UAW or any other union. You can be a member of whatever union you want, but I will negotiate with you for the salary/benefits package, not a union. If you strike, you're fired. I'll pay a salary commensurate with the actual productivity you provide to the company, which means it will be a fair salary. Health insurance will be comparable to the competition's packages as well. I'm sure that even at reduced salary/benefits, these aren't "jobs that Americans won't do."

3) End the GM Pension Plan. GM has made promises that it can't keep, much like our Social Security system. But unlike our dear federal government, GM can't just print the money it needs, it has to earn it. Generally speaking, retirees' pensions are already paid for, but current employees must realize they need to start putting money into a 401k like everyone else. Retirees may have to accept less money for GM to continue to pay them anything at all going forward.

Some or all of these steps may not even be legal, given the current UAW contract. If that's true, then GM will have to file Chapter 11 reorganization, then fire the UAW, restructure salary/benefits packages, and end the pension plan.

Where do the 100,000 laid-off workers go if GM actually implemented my plan? The better question is 'Where do the 300,000 unemployed workers go if GM doesn't?'

Mobocracy: Cali Supreme Court to Hear Throw Out Prop 8

Members of the Sphincter Lobby took to the streets over the past week in typical third-world country fashion, yelling and screaming, beating up people and property, and generally showing themselves to be the lawless intolerant sodomites that they are, complaining that Proposition 8 is lawless and intolerant.

As a result, the rule of law is being thrown out the window, with the announcement that the California Supreme Court has decided to hear a case involving Prop 8. It seems that the proponents of same-sex sex believe that The People broke the law by approving Prop 8. Of course, had Prop 8 failed, they would be celebrating the power of The People.

So we stand at the precipice of anarchy, where the law is optional, truth and justice are defined by the mob, and following the rule of law is, well, illegal. As we'll soon see when the state supreme court knocks down Prop 8 based on its discriminatory language. Using this logic, we should throw out all laws since every law discriminates against someone one way or another. (The US Supreme Court will refuse to hear the case upon appeal.)

Once the state court has approved the Brown Ring of Marriage, the sex-before-eight-or-else-it's-too-late crowd will be next to claim that the law discriminates against them. In California, anything is possible.

Did Beijing Olympics Create False China Economy?

Is it mere coincidence that the global oil demand - fueled primarily by China and India - began to explode about the time that China began work on the infrastructure needed to support the 2008 Olympics? Is it also mere coincidence that the same demand fell off the cliff shortly after the Olympics were held in August?

I don't think there's much argument by folks not named Bill O'Reilly that China has been the big player in the oil demand game. One would think that China's big economic gains are in cheap DVD players, lead-laced child toys, and melamine-laced baby milk. On the other hand, what if their growth was smoke and mirrors? That the billions upon billions spent in a compressed time frame to support the Olympic Games created a false growth pattern, one that has forever ended?

It makes me wonder if even $80 oil is a high water mark we may never see for years.

Update: This article says that it really is the US's drop in oil demand that's driving the prices down, due to the fact that the US is the biggest single consumer. The drop started in August. That may be true, but there wasn't a sudden US surge in oil consumption over the last year that drove oil speculative prices to nearly $150 a barrel, it was the growth forecasts of China's economy. The speculators drove it up, and they are driving it down now that China is tanking.

This article says oil will fall to around $40 and rebound into the $50's for the foreseeable future.

Sodomites' Faces Turn Purple at Rally

Dozens of homosexuals showed up in Palm Springs, Peoples' Republic of California yesterday to demonstrate that the color purple is more than a mere symbol of male-on-male anal sex, it is the color of their faces when confronted with the reality of their sin. This video tells the tale.

Note the tolerance that the gay community demonstrates towards an elderly lady who happens to disagree with their lifestyle choices. Their mistreatment of her can't possibly be a hate crime, because by definition, a hate crime is a crime committed against a gay person. All other crimes are love crimes. Like sodomy.

DC Atheists Prove Their Religion is Dumb

Just in time for Christmas, the American Humanist Association decided to undermine their own religion on a series of advertisements for DC-area buses that read: "Why believe in god? Just be good for goodness sake."

Wow. Only an atheist could be so willfully stupid as to think that one up. Be good for who's sake? Who is "goodness" anyway that I should care about doing it for his/her/its sake? I guess the AHA's logic is insufficiently evolved.

This article actually pokes a little bit of fun at the AHA's expense. Included in that article is an unintentionally funny quote from Fred Edwords, the AHA's Director of mis-Communications:

"Our message is that all of us can have moral values as a natural result of who we are as a species and who we have become as a civilization...Each one of us knows what it means, generally, to be ethical."

Again. Wow. This phrase is completely lacking in logic, value, or meaning unless there is a God. Without God, who gets to define what is moral or immoral? Right or wrong? Good or bad/evil? Has civilization evolved our definition of morals, as implied by Mr. Edwords? Please. Society/Civilization has no right to define right and wrong, good and bad, etc; that would be taking away my right to define it as I please. Logic dictates that a civilization cannot appeal to itself to define these qualities. Furthermore, one civilization's morals will certainly be different from another's. Which one is right? To whom does one appeal in determining who is right? How can we discover who is right when we've yet to define what "right" is?

And the best irony of all, Mr. Edwords practically paraphrases the apostle Paul's letter to the Romans in the Bible (first chapter) when he says each one of us knows what it means, generally, to be ethical.

As a Humanist, Mr. Edwords and every other atheist has no authority whatsoever to even suggest that we should live in a certain way, because they have nothing to appeal to as an authority on why one should behave this way or that way. I find it hilarious that Mr. Edwords would dare suggest to me that I should live in a certain way, for such a suggestion undermines the Humanist belief system.

Mr. Edwords cannot make these statements without God. Mr. Edwords cannot use logic to persuade us to conform to his definition of good behavior because, as an atheist, he has to assume that logic also has evolved. If logic is evolving, then it is always changing, and is thus not an adequate authority to which to appeal. Sadly for Mr. Edwords and his fellow misbelievers, they must use their God-given traits ("each one of us knows...to be ethical") and God-ordained immutable laws (e.g. logic) in order to attempt to persuade us that God doesn't exist.

On the other hand, those who believe that God exists have an authority to which to appeal. God defined good, bad, right, wrong. God created logic, reason, mathematics, etc. Logic had to have been created by God, for without its timeless immutability, it is impossible to evaluate a fact, draw a conclusion, learn from the past, and so on. In essence, the timeless immutability of logic is a fundamental of life itself. I wonder when it was that Mr. Edwords decided that logic was sufficiently evolved so that it could logically be defined as logic so that logic could then be used to make logical conclusions such as being good for goodness' sake.

Mr. Edwords and his fellow non-believers need to acknowledge their God-given traits which could have only come from God. Then they may possibly find the right path. The one defined by God.

Melissa Etheridge, Citizenship RIP

Musical sin-sation Melissa Etheridge announced that if she can't have gay marriage, then she's not going to pay her taxes anymore. "I'm not a full citizen," says the has-been singer turned has-been lesbian. At least she's putting her money where her mouth is. I'm just not sure where that money's been.

The Partial Citizen's refusal to abide by the law just because she failed to impose her morality on others is just one of several similar public expressions of whining by limp-wristed left wing celebrities who just can't understand why they aren't being worshipped over their enlightened, if not twisted, perverse, and anti-social, worldviews.

Madonna, Sean Penn, and every other former Madonna flagellist, er, husband, have also come out of the closet, so to speak, to protest this vicious decision by the unenlightened millions who decided that while Madonna could - one at a time, please - ruin the careers and lives of men via marriage, she certainly wasn't going to get away with doing that to females.

The NY Post reveals Britney Spears' disappointment at being the first to have her career re-ruined by Madonna.

President BO's First Task? Raise Your Gas Prices

Mr. Tire Pressure's, excuse me, President-elect Tire Pressure's transition team leader said His Royal Highness is reviewing every Bush Executive Order, including the lift on the offshore oil drilling ban. Cruel, Mean-Spirited, Immature, Unprofessional Jerks

That was Sarah Palin's bulls-eye summary of the vertebraically-challenged sissies in the McCain campaign. How long have we waited for a politician who will speak the raw truth? Well, I guess about 20 years, when Reagan waved goodbye to us in January 1989, and the left-center-right-center-can't-really-tell wing of the Republican Party regained its dominance after an 8 year haitus.

I agreed with Limbaugh back in the summer when he predicted the end of the Republican party if McCain won the presidency (or at least that was my interpretation). McCain picking Palin spells the end of the Republican party anyway, or at least there's a good chance of it. And I for one am glad. This party has no backbone. It didn't oppose its own leader in 1989 when Bush 41 reneged on his "Read my lips, no new taxes" pledge. It cowered in the corner when Bush 43 was being assailed over the war in Iraq when they knew it was still the right thing to do. It bent over backwards (and forwards) when McCain and the Democrats wanted immigration amnesty. It took the people to show up with pitchforks and torches before they temporarily withdrew their legislation. This party never throws out a rebel for violating its core principles. It never, ever, ever stands up to the Democrat party who seeks the demise of all things conservative. The Democrats love to reach across the aisle when they find a limp wrist on the other side.

The Republican party has a backbone only when the backbone is conservative. Conservative stalwarts like Mike Pence were among the few who stood against the Wall Street bailout. Conservatives like Jeff Sessions were among the few who stood against the madness of amnesty. Ronald Reagan was assailed by his own party for calling the now-defunct evil empire Soviet Union an evil empire, but those same politicians never assail the opposition. Well, they do, it's just that Reagan was the opposition.

It is time for the NY-DC corridor wusses in the Republican party - those who hated Reagan, and now hate Sarah Palin - to go to the Democrat party where they belong. Go to where your real friends are, and leave the party of self-governance. Or we'll have to start one without you.

More (or Less) of the Same

The timeframe was early 1995, two years after Ross Perot elected Bill Clinton as president, after the left-lurching Clinton gave us Don't Ask Don't Tell and attempted HillaryCare, and a mere few weeks after America came to its senses and voted overwhelmingly conservative in the mid-terms. Newt Gingrich had just been chosen to be Leader of the newly-elected Republican majority in the House. In an early speech, he made a profound statement that started the Republican Revolution (which ended precisely 100 days later). The way I remember the statement was like this: We're not going to be more of the same, or less of the same - we're going in a different direction.

Which they did - for 100 days. Then they spent the next 12 years acting like liberals to get re-elected, posturing like liberals to get re-elected, pandering like liberals to get re-elected, spending money like liberals to get re-elected, expanding government like liberals to get re-elected, and violating the trust of those who put them there to get re-elected.

We had 100 days of true conservatism, of real Hope and Change, then we found ourselves growing the government at roughly the same pace as before. The Hebrews were banished by God to the desert for 40 years as punishment for their sins. How long will the GOP persist to act like liberals, and how long will America keep the GOP banished to the desert?

$60 Oil Will Save Our Economy

Remember that $700 Billion dollar bailout? The one that was supposed to go to provide much-needed capital for major financial investment banks and institutions, but instead went to purchase banks, and will soon also be spent trying to pull the American auto companies off the Endangered Species List? We don't need it. Not with $60 per barrel oil. That money was supposed to be spent over the next year or two as institutions began to crumble under the weight of mortgage-backed securities and their even riskier counterparts credit default swaps. But what will happen if the mortgage default rate doesn't explode in 2009 as predicted? Nothing. No soup lines, no Great Depression part deux (oops, sorry, this is America , part dos), and no need for the socialism that soon-departing Treasury Secretary Paulson said we had to have or else we'll cease to be a free country.

It was high oil prices that sucked money out of mortgage and credit card payments, and now that money will start flowing back into mortgages and credit cards balances. With the economic outlook of China and India still being predicted as flat, then it means we have at least sub-$80 oil for at least a year.

So the question is where will President Obama spend the balance of the $700 billion left under the current Administration's mattress when they depart in January?

Election Polling Data Conclusions

Fact: Despite 10 million new registrations (in Chicago's South Side alone!), only a few million more people voted than in 2004, and that was probably only because of the nice weather around the country.
Conclusion: Despite all of the noise about ACORN signing up Mickey Mouse, Saddam Hussein, and Adolph Hitler, only Mickey Mouse voted.

Fact: About the same number of African-American and Hispanics voted as in 2004 (though Barack mysteriously got a larger percentage of both).
Conclusion: Barack inspired as many new black voters as did John Kerry.

Fact: Far more young whites and females (under 30) voted for Obama than for Kerry in 2004.
Conclusion: Obama reminds them of their glory days in high school.

Fact: A few million Republicans stayed home, and a couple million extra Democrats voted vs. 2004.
Conclusion: Two words: John McCain

Sarah Palin, Martyr

The leftstream media is having fun pretending that Sarah Palin is still running for VP, regurgitating bile from jealous insiders in McCain's former camp. I'm sure there's a nugget of truth to each story, but frankly this sordid scenario is more telling of the Republican Party leadership than of Sarah Palin. The party finally gets a strong, popular, conservative female on the ticket, and she gets derided, impugned, and has the deluxe leather-bound edition of the liberal playbook (e.g. "not very smart"), thrown at her - by her own party! Were she a moderate like Christie Todd Wittman, or maybe a slightly right-center Kay Bailey Hutchison, no amount of insider gore would have ever been exposed, no matter how they would have behaved. But the famous Maverick John McCain went out and got a fire-breathing, baby-pumping, young conservative siren that stole all of the interest, momentum, and money away from McCain, his Euro-centric policies, and his spineless sissified followers whose destinies are tied to them.

Would the guy who hacked into Sarah Palin's Yahoo account send this Open Letter to her?

American Identity

In the coming days, weeks, and months, there will be a great amount of chatter about the political leaning of America, having just elected a guy whose acceptance speech was 1 part Reagan, 1 part Marx (not the Brothers variety), and 2 parts Bob The Builder ("Yes We Can!"). Are we center-left? Center-right?

At the moment, I'd say we haven't Changed, to borrow a term. After electing a guy with credentials approaching absolute zero on the mantra of Hope and Change when he'd failed to demonstrate any actual ability to deliver Hope or Change in his 2 years in the Senate, we also passed several "far right" agendas, including a traditional marriage amendment in Florida, Arizona, and the People's Republic of California. How can this be?

My guess? Bipolar Disorder. We don't get enough Lithium in our diet. Not really. We are a country without a moral compass, enjoying the benefits of Judeo-Christian underpinnings instilled at our nation's birth, but having lost the knowledge of these values and why they are important - critical, actually - to the success of a country in which the people self-govern. We've lost the notion that self-government is actually a moral issue, so we pick our leaders without regard to those values. Voter referendums do not have a silky reassuring voice, nuance, or a Yes We Can attitude. They are a single issue vote, and overwhelmingly we vote consistent with our Judeo-Christian heritage. Only time will tell if God raises someone up to convince us of our need to govern consistent with the heritage He gave us.

President Obama

There is no other country like the United States of America. Never before in history has a country acknowledged mankind's God-given freedoms as has the United States. We are the freest, most generous, and most prosperous country in the history of mankind. We've been through wars, both self-inflicted and others-inflicted, economic downturns, and natural disasters, and this country always manages to not only survive, but to succeed, in the face of these obstacles. The human spirit that is celebrated like no other country before always pulls America back on her feet when she is down, and drives her to new heights afterwards. When disaster strikes other nations, even our enemies, the people of this great nation rise up and assist those adversely affected.

And this night is truly historic, because our great country has elected, freely and without coercion, the most liberal President in our country's short history. President Obama offers the kind of Hope and Change that will dwarf FDR's New Deal and LBJ's Great Society, should he get his policies enacted. The Hope of millions more African-American families being torn apart by government policies that promote single motherhood and punish adding a father to the mix (although adding a second mother might be okay). The Hope of millions more aborted babies, some even after they are born. The Hope of a new dawn in American Media where Eastern Europeans marvel at the similarity to TASS, the old Soviet mouthpiece and current Putin mouthpiece.

I fear that the Righteous Wind at his back will turn out to be yesterday's burrito that he ate at the Americanized Mexican restaurant in Des Moines where illegal immigrants are the cooks, Che Guevara posters hang behind the cash register, and Hope and Change are always present. Well, the Change that's in the cash register, anyway.

It isn't every day one witnesses the freest country in the history of the world choosing to go the route of a Eurosissy caretaker government, acquiescing even more of what was once the domain of the individual and the church to the government, desiring year after year of stagnant economic growth in exchange for guaranteed health insurance, protected mortgages, and "can't we all get along?" foreign policy.

But that's the beauty of our country. In four years, we get to decide if it was such a good idea after all.

The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.')
Income Tax
(no changes):

  • Single making 30K - tax $4,500
  • Single making 50K - tax $12,500
  • Single making 75K - tax $18,750
  • Married making 60K- tax $9,000
  • Married making 75K - tax $18,750
  • Married making 125K - tax $31,250
(reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts):

  • Single making 30K - tax $8,400
  • Single making 50K - tax $14,000
  • Single making 75K - tax $23,250
  • Married making 60K - tax $16,800
  • Married making 75K - tax $21,000
  • Married making 125K - tax $38,750
(Under Obama, your taxes could almost DOUBLE!)
Inheritance Tax
0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)Restore the inheritance tax Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.
New Taxes Proposed By Obama
New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet. New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already) New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity) New taxes on retirement accounts, and last but not least....New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!

Throw Momma from the Plane

Obama's latest Putinist decision to throw the 3 remaining journalists not asking to touch the hem of His Holiness' garment sheds light on why "conservatives" such as Chris Buckley and Ken Adelman have inserted their nickels into the Obamachine: they're afraid of getting thrown off the plane. The one that has a 3 trillion dollar annual budget, and employs hundreds of do-nothing Executive Branch groupies.

Top 5 Reasons Obama will fail as President

We're jumping the gun a bit here at RWR, but thought it would be fun to pontificate an Obama presidency. Or lack thereof. With that, we present the Top Five Reasons the Obama Presidency will Fail:

5) He refused Barney Frank's persistent requests for a date.

4) He admitted to a typo in his tax plan that shows he's really raising taxes on everyone making a combined household income of 250,000 yen.

3) He commissioned statues of himself to be built in all 57 states he visited during the Campaign.

2) He failed to wrestle unilateral control of the Republic away from Chancellor Palpatine thanks to that idiot Skywalker.

1) He'll tearfully admit his long-time associations with Rev. Billy Graham, who convinced a single mother-to-be to not abort her baby when Obama was only eight years old.

Open Letter to Sarah Palin

Governor Palin,

You said recently that should His All-mitey Barack Obama fall over the finish line in first place on Tuesday, you're not going to just disappear into bolivian, as Mike Tyson would say. No, you're going to stay and fight.

Well, good for you, Guv'na. My question is, whom are you going to fight? The socialist, peacenik tree huggers on the left whose full possession of two of the three branches gives them the power to treat America as their experimental social playground? The aisle-crossing, wide-stanced, bend-over-backwards-and-forwards appeasing moderates who run the GOP? How about MSCNNBC, the Obama official news agency? Or the Chris Buckley/Peggy Noonan punditocrats who loved McCain until he picked you? All of the above?

Governor Palin, you're surrounded. But not alone. Those of us who admire you for your policies and determination number in the millions. We, the disillusioned conservative base of the Party of Lincoln stand with you. The trouble is we are realizing that we're standing in a big stinky political cowpie called the Republican Party, and we'd like to hose it off our shoes and start over. But we need a leader. Care to join us?

PS - Bring Mike Pence with you.

Time for a new Political Party?

The GOP leadership's increasing antagonism towards pro-lifers, Christians, and anyone else who believes in an actual limited government have me wondering out loud if it's time to start a new political party. Off the top of my head, I imagine there must be some basic party platforms which cannot be compromised:

1) Pro-life. The party must be unashamedly and uncompromisingly pro-life. A Constitutional amendment must be added to define life as starting at conception. In the interim, a vote to expand abortion rights in any way is grounds for permanent dismissal from the party.

2) Limited government. While even the Founders argued over the limits of a limited government, there was little disagreement that the government must not spend more than it makes. While you can't predict the future, and thus government still might spend over-budget during an unexpected crisis, the spending plan cannot have a deficit built into the budget as is the case year after year. Voting for an annual budget that has a built-in deficit is grounds for dismissal from the party.

2a) Eventual elimination of spending any federal dollars on giveaways, handouts, welfare, or any other social programs. That is the responsibility of the church, and the local government if desired, who best know how to spend the money to help the truly helpless, and are best qualified to identify and prevent fraud.

2b) Privatization of health care. Currently, 40% of all health care dollars are spent by the federal government. That's right, the United States already has a 40% socialist health care system, by measurement of dollars spent. The federal government should get out of the health care business, and thus should privatize Medicare and Medicaid. Health care, like everything else in economics, is made more affordable by having an increased supply vs. demand. Government involvement by way of price controls and excessive regulation reduces supply. Health care is not a right, and, while there are many regulatory changes that are necessary to lower health care costs, the most important step is to remove the government from the equation. Other necessary changes include insurance reform and tort reform.

2c) Privatization of Social Security. This is so obvious, there's no need for explanation.

2d) Legislation, and eventually a Constitutional amendment, banning income and property taxes. Property taxes are immoral in that you are essentially renting your property from the government, and in reality have no real property rights. (Think I'm wrong? Refuse to pay them, and you'll be thrown off your own property.) The federal government will replace these taxes with a federal sales tax. Certain foods are tax exempt. The rich will pay more taxes than the poor, based on the fact that they buy more things. But everyone gets to decide how much taxes they want to pay by controlling their own spending.

3) Strong military. One of the Constitution's few specified requirements of the federal government is for national security. A strong military, with a strong civilian support system, is an uncompromising requirement.

4) Constitutionalist judiciary. There will be a litmus test for judges, and the test is very simple. You are either a judge (meaning, you interpret the laws based solely on the Constitution) or you are not (meaning, you deviate in any manner from the Constitution). If you are not a judge by this definition, you fail the litmus test.

5) Term Limits. A party member cannot serve more than 3 consecutive terms in the House of Representatives, and cannot serve more than 1 consecutive term in the Senate. Six consecutive years of service is enough. After that, you need to get back into the real world so you do not become immune to it. Joe Biden, John McCain, and Ted Kennedy are all the proof we need that "experience" in Congress is spelled c-o-r-r-u-p-t.

6) Constitutional marriage amendment. First legislation, then Constitutional amendment, defining marriage as being between one man and one woman. Marriage, by its very existence, is the foundation and preservation of society, the generator of generations, and is as immutable as 2+2=4. While the government cannot condone sodomy or elevate it to be equated with monogamous heterosexual intercourse within the confines of marriage, there should be no law that prevents two friends from hospital visitation, joint insurance policies, or any other legal contract in which two friends may participate. But government cannot provide special protections to persons identified exclusively by the fact that they sodomize another human being.

7) School vouchers. The corrupt public education system can be dramatically improved if it must compete for students. The middle class and poor should be able to afford the same school choices as the rich. School vouchers for private and parochial schools can subsidize the cost of education, and will create an environment where schools will have to compete for students (and thus their money).

First draft complete.

With that list, I'm sure you're wondering how you could possibly create a party big enough to win seats in Congress and actually be a force for change. If your thinking follows along those lines, then I encourage you to consider the principles listed above without regard to actual winning and losing. Either the principles above are worth fighting for, or they are not. If you believe they are not worth the cost, then I suggest you stay with your corrupt political party. As the great congressman and statesman Mike Pence said during the bailout debacle, "Duty is ours, outcomes belong to God." We are a force for change, whether or not we win congressional seats. We are a force for change, because, as the late great William F. Buckley said, we stand athwart history yelling stop! But we are not a force for change if we stay marginalized by a party that feigns passing interest in our core values.

The fight we must fight is for truth, justice, and liberty for all American citizens, regardless of creed, color, or religion. God will decide how many congressional seats we win.

Update: The American Independent Party (http://www.aipca.org/), and America's Independent Party (http://www.selfgovernment.us/), which are perplexingly not the same organization, but are now affiliated with each other, and somehow have nominated the same candidate to represent them for President (Alan Keyes), might be my new political home. Time to check them out!

The joys of a Democrat-controlled government

This article (http://www.workforce.com/section/00/article/25/83/58.php) describes one of the joyous tax changes that liberals in the House hope to implement when America finally gets its act together and votes Democrat across the board on election day.

I'll summarize for those of you who won't click on the link:
1) No more voluntary, tax-deferred, 401k accounts backed by the stock market
2) Instead, you MUST put 5% of your money into a Social Security-controlled savings account
3) Which will earn 3%, inflation-adjusted, rain or shine. That's less than half of what you'll earn with the stock market.

I can see the new Democrat bumper stickers now - Democrats: Spreading mediocrity equally!

But no worries - I'm sure President Obama would veto any attempts to restrict your freedom to do what you want with your money.

So when did Barack Obama consider running for President?

This link from ESPN's website (http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/videopage?videoId=3665113&categoryId=3286128) has both Barack and Michelle Obama retelling a November 2006 story of him trying to talk Michelle into letting him run for President...just days after being elected to the Senate.

So let me get this straight: the Democrat nominee for President considered himself qualified for the most powerful job in the world with exactly zero days of legislative or executive experience. Compared to Obama, Sarah Palin is Ronald Reagan.

Re: Obama Tax Cuts

If 44% of americans don't make enough to pay taxes, how can they get a tax cut? If you don't pay taxes, how can you lower what you pay? Nice job by the Obama campaign to issue welfare checks via the IRS...

I heard a great analogy for this on the radio:

Suppose you are in school. You get 100% on your test. Unfortunately, litte Johnny did not do well enough to pass. No worries, the teacher will take 20% from you and give it to Johnny so he can pass too.

Okay...so...where is your motivation to try harder? If you don't try, you will still pass. If you do try, some of what you earned will be taken away...Socialism at its finest.

Socialism scared people out of Cuba...and that was before it turned into Communism.

Sarah Palin is at it again

The Vice Presidential candidate recently attacked Barack Obama by guaranteeing that our enemies will create an "international crisis" within the first six months of his administration, designed to test the president's mettle. The assault continued with the implication that Obama will not respond to the crisis, likely angering his supporters.

If there was anything that proves she is unfit for the job, this statement would seal the deal.

What? Joe Biden said this? Not Sarah Palin? Uh, never mind.

Tough Times Call for Socialism

Treasury Secretary Paulson said this on October 14, 2008:

"Government owning a stake in any private U.S. company is objectionable to most Americans, me included. Yet, the alternative of leaving businesses and consumers without access to financing is totally unacceptable."

Mr. Secretary's statement reeks of 3rd grade logic, for if socialism is the solution when times are really difficult, it ought to create heaven-on-earth during the good times.

The race is closer than we think

Obama up 13 nationally in one poll, up 12 in another, up 9 on Fox, but tied on AP/Yahoo. Ann Coulter wrote recently that when the polls are wrong, they favor the Democrat, sometimes greatly. The way Obama is spending money, the race is obviously tighter than it appears on the surface. I suspect that we won't know who our next president is on election evening. Someone will demand a recount in at least 2 states.
